Judge Sanchez-Gordon has had a distinguished and impactful legal career, marked by her leadership in presiding over complex litigation and unlimited civil cases. With over 25 years of experience as both a judge and settlement officer, she has earned a reputation for her expertise and commitment to the fair administration of justice. Her service to the Los Angeles community extends beyond the courtroom; in 2024, she was appointed as a commissioner for the Los Angeles Police Department, further solidifying her dedication to public service and community well-being.

A passionate advocate for cross-cultural understanding, Judge Sanchez-Gordon has spent over a decade organizing cultural exchange initiatives for Los Angeles Superior Court judges. These trips to Mexico have fostered a deeper appreciation of Mexican culture and enhanced cultural sensitivity within the legal community. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Judge Sanchez Gordon was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States with her mother and siblings at the age of three. Her personal journey has profoundly shaped her professional approach, particularly in matters requiring cultural competency and nuanced understanding.

  • Member of Mexican American Bar Association, and The Langston Bar Assocation
  • First Mexican-American Presiding Judge of the East Los Angeles Municipal Court, November 1999-2000
  • Served as Presiding Judge from 1999 to April, 2000 then transferred to the Alhambra Superior Court as Site Judge where she presided over a long cause felony and civil calendar.
